How It Works

.Andown uses a secure backend media engine — not browser tricks — to process supported public links.

1. Paste a public link

Copy the URL of a public video or track and paste it into the input on the home page.

2. We detect the platform

Our backend identifies the provider and securely fetches the media details — title, thumbnail, duration and available formats.

3. Choose your format

Pick a video quality (MP4) or an audio format (MP3 / M4A). Only formats the provider actually returns are shown.

4. Download

We prepare the file on the server, show live progress, then hand it to your browser. Temporary files are deleted automatically afterwards.

A note on reliability: some platforms (like YouTube) apply strict anti-bot measures. Depending on the server’s network, certain downloads may require provider cookies to be configured by the operator. Metadata and many other platforms work out of the box.
